Mattapoisett, Mass, located on Buzzards Bay. I can get you a free overnight mooring anytime. Mattapoisett offers deep water moorings, beautiful water scenery, transient dingy docks, 1 hr dock tie-ups, and a beautiful seaside park. Wonderful food across from the dock at the Kinsale Inn. Great sailing to Woods Hole and the Vineyard.
I am in New Orleans, LA, and I'd be happy to have association members contact me if you're going to be in the area. I've already passed my email and phone number to Jim and Russ for the eventual directory, but in the meantime, you can send me a message through the forums.
I live about a half hour (well...now about 45 minutes) or so in Virginia West of the free Smithsonian museums in Washington DC. My Catalina is docked at a marina in DC adjacent to the Washington Channel on the Anacostia River side of Fort McNair just before where it joins into the Potomac River. Anyone visiting DC, if the timing is right, I can play host to the upper Potomac River sailing if one wants to get some snapshots of the Washington Monument and the Capitol from a distant waterside view. Also a great place if you want to experience the swarm (sometimes) and noise of Natl Reagan Airport planes taking off and landing, Anacostia Air Station Helicopters buzzing the area, Coast Guard boats patrolling, DC Harbor Police patrolling, crew boats getting underfoot, sightseeing boats sightseeing including the amphibious Duck Boats amphibing or whatever they call it....OH ! and sailing on my '89 Catalina. Earplugs are optional unless there is time to go South toward or past Alexandria sailing under the new Wilson Bridge. Just past the bridge is the new National Harbor area which is still increasing in size but not as nice or quaint as the Alexandria, VA area.
I'd be happy to handle Dallas Texas at Lake Ray Hubbard. We have several members right next to my boat as well.
Is anyone out in Galveston? I'm wanting to get some ocean sailing in and I'm not sure I want to pull the dinghy all the way down there...I'll be there for labor day weekend...
I travel to other cities a few times a year for my work, and I have been fortunate to go sailing with other gracious Association Members on their C-25/C-250 boats out of Mission Bay (CA), Washington DC, Newport Beach (CA), and Brisbane (CA), and have reciprocated so far with one member.
It's been a thrill, let me tell you!
Our Members have diverse sailing venues and boat setups, both of which make visiting another Association Member a fun, learning experience. </font id="size1">
Now I would like to report having sailed on 14 occasions with captains out of these home ports:
Daytona Beach, FL Lake Ray Hubbard, TX Lake Lanier, GA Long Beach, CA Mission Bay, CA Washington DC Newport Beach, CA Brisbane, CA
Thanks, again, gentlemen, for this unique social network!

Hi I'm happy to take anyone visiting down under for a sail (Oprah turned me down) We are about an hour drive north of Sydney (on train line) at Lake Macquarie where recent World Moth Championships were sailed ..See map on other post
Well Douglas, I'll see your list, and raise you a map.
If you go to the Map your boat thread (also a sticky on this same board) you can zoom in on the area you plan to visit and see who is nearby, then peel their info off the forum.
Lately I have been here or there with forums so it would be easier to send me an email or phone call. We are on a small lake in central CA, right next to the new UC Merced. Our lake is called Lake Yosemite, if you are in California planning on a trip to Yosemite we are on your way there. Stop by for a sail. I hear the falls are terrific right now with all the snow we have had this year. Kind of dangerous too so watch out. Do a search for lake yosemite and you will find our clubs website too.
If anyone finds themselves in the Ocean City, NJ area, feel free to drop me an E-mail. I'm still new to sailing, so you may be in for more than you expect, but...
Well guys, I've sold our C-25, but we still have the C-22. I may no longer qualify as a port captain(?), but if you are ever planning to be in Nashville and have time to go sailing, email me and I'll make every possible effort to be available. Would enjoy meeting you.
