One of our members in the C250 forum, talked about West Marine offering So-Pac closed-cell foam cockpit cusions for a very reasonable price - 38" for $30.00 and 52" for $39.00. I intend purchasing a set of these however, with my boat under cover for the winter (and a foot of snow on top), I cannot measure the length of the cockpit seats. Can anyone with access to their boats provide that measurment?
Al, Could you post a review of these cusions after you've used them? I have a friend with a new to him Newport 33 that is badly in need of some padding in the cockpit. These seemed to be a good solution at a reasonable price.

Hi Earl,
I have two of the longer ones, and I think they are well worth the price. I've never had one blow out of the cockpit, but I suppose that is possible. As has already been mentioned, they float, so it would be fairly easy to retrieve one under most circumstances. They are also easy to clean, and they are a fairly close match to "Pacific blue" Sunbrella for those who have to coordinate their colors.
I think, for the price, they are hard to beat ... they are about the only things the PO left in my boat that were OK ...
BTW, looking at the measurements you provided, it looks like two of the smaller ones would be just about perfect to fill one side in a C-25 cockpit. If I were buying any, I think I'd go for four of the smaller ones rather than the two longer ones ... mine leave a good bit of space on the bench seat without any cushion.
I have full length cockpit cushions and do like them, but the adjustable Sport-A-Seats are the best for cockpit comfort. Initially I only bought a pair of these for the boat, but after that first day with them, my wife ordered me to immediately buy 2 more so nobody would fight over them. They fit nicely facing forward at the rear of the cockpit seats, but are even better at providing a cushion when leaned up against the bulkhead with the instruments and bulbous compass.
When singlehanding, I put a full length cushion on the cockpit seat then put my chair on top of that. With my feet propped up and my back reclining comfortably, it almost feels like I'm sitting in a Laz-y-Boy recliner which is nice on those dawn to dusk sails.
I ordered these cushions and received them yesterday.
My first impressions: 1. They are very light. Similar material that is used for gardening knee pads. 2. Quite soft and comfortable, will get the job done. 3. Worried that they might blow away if the wind really picks up. May need to come up with a means to secure them. Time will tell.
