I would like to add some extra sail slugs to my spare parts pile for the next season. Does anyone know what size or West Marine part number to order. My local WM didn't have any slugs in stock so I couldn't match by sight and 5/16 , 3/8 and 1/2 in the catalog doesn't mean much unless its the diameter of the slug inside the mast. Thanks

They are 3/8" and I recommend the nylon with stainless steel.

I've tried both the all nylon slugs and nylon slugs with the stainless bail. If you're breaking slugs frequently, you could try the stainless bail. However, I found they don't slide as well in the mast track. The nylon ones have a "lip" on them that guides the slug in the track a little better, while the stainless bail has no "lip" and tends to turn sideways in the track so both the top and bottom of the bail rub against the track. Also, the nylon is a bit more slippery against aluminum than the stainless. Maybe with some of Oscar's lubrication things stay nice and slippery regardless.

Just my 2 cents worth ......... Max
