When we bought our boat there was a ton of extra gear with it. We've never figured out what these things are for.

Steve, they are "pot holders". Secure to the metal rail around the stove burner and retain the pan in place. It only requires 2 at a time.

Well thank you! Ive since replaced the curtain burner with the non pressurized Origo stove so I'll have to see if they fit.

...and that fleshy-colored thing on the left is a hand. You should have found a second one as they usually come in pairs.
