During our North Channel cruise this summer, we enjoyed meeting the family of Mike, Shirley and the girls and over a few days shared several moments with them. Mike is a pilot in the Canadian Air Force and Shirley is an Areonautical engineer. The girls... well, they are just kids.
CUTE girls, Arlyn. Thanks for sharing Mike and Shirley's photos.
BTW, I meant to confirm from your earlier summer cruise post that you were basically sailing over the Edmund Fitzgerald near Caribou Island, and that the place you described with the railroad lifts was actually the E.F.'s intended destination. Is that correct?

No... that would be on Lake Superior. I've not sailed that lake though hope to someday. The location of the interesting marina using the mining technology rail system is near Three Sisters Islands named because of their similar size and shape. The marina is just east of them and located on the North shore of the North Channel section of Lake Huron.
Certainly one of the advantages of cruising is the people you meet and share experiences with. That's why one of the things fleets can due to provide fleet members value is to organize cruises. That is especially true for fleets able to sail on large bodies of water - the the oceans, or the Great Lakes.
