I want to pole out my 155 roller furling genny for downwind sailing (standard rig). How long should the pole be? If you need to adjust the length, what is the range ?

All I know is that my 6'-12' adjustable whisker pole is too short! It will work somewhat well on my 130. I think you need something over 14'. Seems to me that Derek Crawford told me his tall rig 155 uses a pole that is 15'9" or so, but I could be off a little.

Gary - your memory is pretty good! My pole for the 155%is 15'9 1/2". Class Rules max is 16'3 1/4" (if my memory is working...) You really need to "spread" the entire genoa out into the wind to help generate as much lift as possible.

Thanks, I am sure my pole is at least 16 feet, I will measure it tonight.

Hey guys, this is a family forum...

I think 7-17 is what is generally recommended for the C25 in an adjustable spinpole.

Are you guys talking about setting the pole wing on wing or on a very broad reach?
