My Catalina 25 (1983) came with a nice depth sounder. It still works, the LED turns on when it's too shallow. However, the screen is toast. I have looked on eBay and haven't found this brand of depth sounder.
It's a SR Instruments Inc. DDM-1. The company does not manufacture them anymore.
Any ideas on where I can find a replacement unit ?
Check SR Instrument's website. Even though they do not mfr any new instruments, they will sell replacement parts or overhaul your original. I sent them my knot meter a few years ago and it came back like new. It ain't cheap to get it overhauled but these Gage's are expensive to start with and so you may want to see if their website still supports their original products. They are fine to deal with over the phone if you have questions. They are located on Long Island.
I was planning to send mine in for refurb, but happened on one available on eBay that was in great condition. I had been idly looking on eBay for a very long time though. The only sure way is to send it in for rebuild.

I called SR Instruments Inc. and they agreed to send me a replacement LCD display. I'll have to install it myself, but it's doable. Great service from these guys. Problem is on its way to being solved.
