Anyone on here found a way to build a single point lift for a C25? I know it would mean removing the poptop and mast.

Take a minute to register your boat with the association!!

You would need a direct line from the keel up through the opening provided by the sliding hatch, or create a hole, covered by a Beckson plate, in the deck. The primary issue would be balance. You might be able to do it with the mast up, but the boom would definitely need to be removed. Best to ask Catalina Yachts if it is doable. Most likely not feasible with a swinger.

Are you talking about lifting the boat by bolting to the keel bolts or something?

It would seem like an "H" spreader bar would allow a single pick point but still allow you to sling the boat so the weight is balanced.

A bunch of guys in my club have built single point lifts that attach to the keel bolts for other boat designs.

simply a piece of steel with an eye welded to it, and holes to align with the keel bolts.

I'm wondering if anyone has tried this with a C25.

our crane has minimal clearance and a single point lift minimises the lifting distance needed.

The H bar would likely also work though.

I guess this one doesn't help with the vertical clearance issue.

I used one with my Merit 25. It helps to have the lifting eye threaded onto a keel bolt at the perfect cg but no one does, you still use lines to the three corners of the boat to control the lift and keep the boat level. Most people had their own lifting cable which was just the right length to reach up to the crane hook which was where you would also connect the "docklines" going to the cleats.
