Tropical Storm Debbie is churning up the waters in the eastern Gulf of Mexico. While top winds are 60 now, forecasters predict a move to the Northeast and the storm intensifying to hurricane strength shortly. My thoughts go out to all boaters in the area.

Yes, we are sitting inside the house right now because of the continuous rain. Expected to rain for the next few days. Looks like the worst if it will pass us though.
Rain is almost here in Pensacola. Went to the marina this morning and added extra lines, removed the mainsail and secured the bimini. Winds were 20 to 25 and a little too much to unfurl and remove the 150 so I wrapped a spare halyard around the furled jib to keep it tight and hopefully from unfurling in high winds. I prefer to remove it but didn't get to the boat while the winds were light enough. Hoping for the best.
Blew up a doubled up 5/8th's bowline this morning. Spring lines held my girl in place until I could get a new dockline ready and run thru block and tackle and then back to the electric winch. PITA! It is impossible to push or pull a boat after the fact unless you have some serious leverage and horsepower.
USCG sector St. Pete refused to allow their "small boats" out to attend to a couple of runaway direlict boats on the hook. Mind you, the base is .2 Nautical Miles from the seawall where these guys were floundering. Well protected, deep enough, etc...
Storm surge prety high. I am glad for the floating docks. The folks at other marinas are complaining about the effort and the lumpy ride...
One projection has Debby coming into Tampa bay... Might have to take my girl out and spider her out somewhere and check into a motel...

Shot this short video of the water rising over the dock. This was about 2 hours before high tide, so the water came up higher than this. Keep in mind, we are hundreds of miles away from this storm.
Dad usta say once they get into the gulf you can't tell where they are going. That's a pretty funny track. Can't say I've ever seen that..east and west.
