I made it out to the boat today. As I was disassembling all of the woodwork (or as much of it as I could get to come free) to bring it home for sanding/finishing, I noticed these four holes next to my window, at the aft end of the cockpit, near the companionway. I have the same holes on both the port and starbord sides. Any idea what used to be mounted here?

Ya, I'm betting somebody tried to drill four holes in the cabin liner to mount something... On at least one, the drill grabbed in the fiberglass (it'll do that) and shot all the way through the outer cabin molding. Plug the outer hole ASAP--something like Marine-Tex (epoxy putty) or epoxy resin thickened with micro-fibers is good for that.
Frank, That would have been my thought, too, except that there was a matching one on the other side of the cabin. You'd think the guy would have figured out something was wrong! I thought maybe there had been a traveler mounted across/above the cabin, or that there was something else nifty there. Oh well!
