I'm not sure that's the solution. I am keeping pretty good track of everything and I am also exchanging messages via private email on a few of the items. I think a thread on each item for sale would create a big mess and a ton of threads. I have several people asking for multiple items and I'd hate for them to have to ask in each thread.

In regards to the mainsail cover, it's been worked out.

<br />Chris,

Sent you a message about the anchor hatch. Since Gary is passing on the mainsail cover, does that put me second? You said the mainsail cover was 9.5' overall...does that include all extensions as far out as it can go?
<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">

Replied to your email, also the 9.5' is the measurement of the mainsail cover not including the 2' extension.
<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">
Oh, I thought the 9' 5" was including the extension! If that does not include the extension I'd like to take it if it's still available. I'll also accept $25.00 for the four cleats we discussed above.

Let me know.
<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">

Come on Gary you're putting me in a bind here, haha. I've already emailed Ben stating that the main sail cover is his since you passed on it. I want to be as fair as possible so I went back to read again what I posted to see if I said something ambigious or unclear. I stated that the cover was 9.5' long and it ALSO had a 2' extension on it. I'll have to say at this point it's his unless he bows out in light of your mind change. I will let you two work it out, be it here or privately. In the meantime I'll work on getting those cleats off and backing plates if possible.

Edit: So just pulled all four cleats that you wanted, and there were no backing plates. Had to clear out a very busy bees nest first. I will wait on shipping until we work out the sail cover thing.
<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">
I missed the ALSO part on first read so it's my bad. No problem letting Ben have the cover.

I'll get back with you this evening when I get home to finalize the cleat deal. I've got to dig up my PayPal info.
<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">

No problem, and again sorry that the slight confusion happened. Thanks for being understanding. I'd like to be as fair as possible to everyone even noting the time of day when multiple people request the same items.

Cool, thanks for saying so. Really the path of least resistance would be for me to put everything up on Ebay and let everyone hash/bid it out, but really I'd like to help some folks out while at the same time make a little money towards my future boat purchase. I figured it's my payment for putting in the time/labor to pull the boat apart, post stuff, and pack it all up for shipment....then get rid of a few thousand pounds of fiberglass....lol

For some reason the forum e-mail is not working for me...I've tried different PC's and e-mails but nuthin.

Anyway, do you have any idea on the shipping cost to California 93314?

Also my email is <s>*nospam*</s>mmaxwell<s>no</s>@<s>spam</s>bakersfieldfire.us<s>*nospam*</s>

Crib Boards...............................$100 (firm?)
Shipping...................................$???
PayPal 4.5%x(cost+shipping or just cost?).$4.50(?)

I can appriciate all your effort in this parting out process, but remember this is a Catalina forum .... not a Hinckley

Thanks Chris

Everything is cost plus shipping. Read my first post, I tried to outline my methods for payment and it's mostly b/c I have sold stuff in forums before and it's endless shipping quotes and no $$..haha. Also I understand that this isn't a Hinckley forum so I'm trying to give some fair prices for stuff with out totally giving the stuff away. I know most of the boat is junk but there is still some value to be had out of it.

Anyway if you think the shipping might be a make it or break it number then I can get a quote for you, especially since they are fairly heavy and going clear to California. Also any money sent through paypal I would like to have the 4.5% added or else I eat more of the shipping. I'm not always a huge fan of their fees but oftentimes it seems the safest for all parties involved. You are more than welcome to snailmail me a cashiers check if you would like to avoid the 4.5%...haha

Chris,

I have a question about PayPal. Looking at their site it looks like I could make a payment to friends or family (rather than for purchases) for money owed and fully fund it with my bank account and there would be no fees for me or you. AM I reading this wrong?

That particular aspect I'm not sure of. You'll have to dig for the fine print. I'm not sure if you change the reason for sending money if it changes their fee or eliminates it. I don't always know how people send me money but they have always taken their cut. If for some reason someone sends me the 4.5% and pay pal gives me the full amount I'm happy to refund the money immediately.

kleinbiker1 "at" aol ""dot"" com is my paypal address. please include the items you are paying for in the note to make sure I don't mix anything up.

Also I pulled the cleats off the boat today before I came into work. They didn't have any back plates I'm afraid to say. They also didn't have all the washers on them, but stainless washers are only a few cents a piece. I will include everything that was with them though.

Thanks,
Chris

Edit: were you also looking for a main sail? I noticed you asking in another thread.

I checked on some shipping prices last night. Found them to range around $20 to $25 for basic ground type delivery.

That puts the total for me to $130 (if the shipping is right)

So I pulled up the pictures you took and went over them real close...middle board looks like it is damaged on the lower starboard corner, could be a potential leak source...weathered issues aside, I know they wont just fit without some trim work (companion way angles are different for every boat) and that may lead to fit gap with the top slide hatch.....

Will you take $100 door to door?

Thanks

Mark, I was on the way to ship a few item sold from the boat so I decided I would take the crib boards along with me and get an actual shipping quote. When pulling them off the boat I took a closer look at the middle one and saw the small missing piece that you mentioned. In light of that and possible need for fitment on a different boat, I'll accept your offer of $100 door to door (plus 4/5%). Of course you know I'm going to use the slowest shipping possible right? It just might be a mule train or porter or something. Kidding, I'll ship UPS normal ground.

Chris
