Wonderful weather although not much wind on Friday/Sat. Thursday was fun but I was not feeling well, getting over the flu. Slept and read on board a lot. Motored over to Port Royal for gas and to review the marina. Pretty strange. Clean, new, and family friendly. Corporate kids waterpark kinda feeling. Got the battery tied down with a WM battery hold down tray, and my Sea fuse block with 100 amp fuse is on order for my primary hot wire from the battery to the electrical panel. Got the front strbrd cleat rebedded, it was on with wood backing blocks but no washers on the nuts. Got new screws on it and washers and nylon locking nuts. Added a quick connect to the gas tank and changed the line so the primer bulb is just outside the locker. Watched an Osprey feeding, the dive, the shudder in flight to dry, and off with dinner.

It was one of those days you just get so happy to be out..the swimming was mighty fine. . . I had been wondering about changing out the gasket under the poptop, but then I had pretty much resolved to not fix it if it ain't broke. Has anyone bought the white gasket? Mine needs to be glued down but I think I'm just making work for myself by replacing it. . . I've got a backup stereo for my boom box and the shuffle works ggreat, but the software from apple (Itunes) is just a pain to keep running the updates. Don't get me started about proprietary software. . . I've got a solar panel mounted just inside the window and it supplies just enough power to keep the battery topped off, a glass mat battery. If I only use leds and just a few amps I think I'll be OK, but I don't think it would supply enough to actually recharge the battery if I drained it with a real stereo. .
Beautiful pics, Ray. We're coming to Lanier this weekend for the Gone With The Wind Regatta at LLSC. If I see you out there, I'll try to hail you on channel 68.
I'll keep the radideo on 68, Iffin I can hear it over the thumpin of my Huge Stereo! I gotta write that down or I'll forget. I'll know by Thursday if I'm gonna be out, but probably so. Gotta bike ride that morning, and not feeling all that wonderful, so I might be out late Saturday.
This is the foredeck Hailing the LeeKee on 68 for a beer toss over.......
I replaced the gaskets on both the forward hatch and pop-top...yes, it's a bit of work, getting the old glue off was a chore, but the new foam was not compressed and did a much better job keeping the water out...now that it's been 4 years, my plan is to buy more of the foam (the 'new' stuff has compressed), split it in 1/2 and just use the portion with the adhesive, applying it right on top of the existing gasket.
