It's the housing! The outer cover of the housing broke off on our last trip. I did a temp repair using a disposable water bottle and some electrical tape!
If the whole thing is broken, then buy either the AS or the Hella. All you have to do is wire it up and mount it. Randy's right. And you can buy it with the LEDs installed these days.
Paul, Did the whole thing break off, or just the lense? You should be able to dismount the remnants (if any?) & take it to the show with you. The Hella or Aquasignal guys will be able to identify if it's theirs and help you get a new one. If not, give Catalina a call & find out which manufacturer they used on your year's boat, that should give you a leg up on what you need.
Back from the show, foot sore from both the strictly sail and the exhibits at the Miami Beach Convention center... hundreds of vendors.
Did not see anyone selling hella light units.
Think I'm going to BOW to get a new lamp unit and then buy the lamps online.
Did get to see the new 250, I focused on the outside, Admiral Peggy on the inside.
Outside not a lot of difference from last year, but a really neat new mast gate system!
The mast gate consists of a rod with a thumbscrew bolt through it and the old threaded hole in the mast. You unscrew the thumbscrew enough that the rod slides down below the gate. To secure the gate, just slide the rod up and tighten up on the thumbscrew.
