Here is a great new device I got at West Marine. It is used to tilt outboard motors up and down. Because it gives extra leverage it makes the job of tilting a heavy OB much easier. Here is the unit clipped on to the OB. It uses the cowl handhold as the primary attachment point.
Here is the OB being tilted up. This is definitely easy on the old back!
I trimmed the handle a few inches so that the unit folds and fits in the fuel locker, out of the way but handy.
The unit is made by Garelick and is called Outboard Engine Tilter.
We cannot direct the winds but we can adjust our sails.
