Finally my boat (98 WB)is ready to go. I've sailed quite a bit and race J27s at a club. Other than a gaff-rigged catboat that I recently sold (no jib at all) this is the only boat I've sailed that has the shrouds so far outboard. On my first sail yesterday I found myself either reducing jib size with the furler or sailing very far off the wind so as not to have problems with the shrouds. Could any of you more experienced 250 sailors share any tips.

Are your chainplates on the deck or just above the rub rail? Is your jib a 110 or 135? These all make a difference as to were your sheets run. You might want to take a look at Arlyn's web site under rigging as it refers to the jib antifouling line.
Joe; My 250 is also a 1998 WB #370 with a 135 on a roller furler. My sheets are run inside the shrouds to the tracks. I dont recall ever having a problem with the jib on the shrouds. What type of problem are you having?
