A few weeks ago I took the boat out to clean the bottom and I noticed the cable hanging down next to the center board. When I put the boat back in the water and went sailing,I noticed a vibrating sound that I have not noticed for a long time. If I adjust the centerboard it will stop only to start again later. Has anyone else had this occur and how did you stop it?
Robert... having it stop after adjusting and then starting again seems to indicate it resonates at varying speeds. Adjusting it for non resonance at one speed will see it reapear at another.
In my experience, the cable doesn't hum near as much as the C22 did.
Russ: Thanks for your response. I do have the old style metal cable. It completely went away for a couple of seasons and then reappeared. I have to remove the boat from the lake in a couple of weeks and then I will check it out. From your responses, it must not be anything demanding immediate attention.
