Just added water to starboard potable water tank and port porta-pottie on my 83 cat 25 sk/tr. Like last year, it puts the bow bootstripe into the water. What are some ideas being used to get her back on her lines. Thanks for your help. Ed Spengeman

Ideas? Add crew to the rear.... In my opinion, I always want the bow down because it gets the "aft" end up and out of the deep water some, thus avoiding drag underwater. That's why you put weight forward, too, when running downwind....to reduce drag. So I pile all the crap in the boat forward in the V berth. I also have the waste tank up there but I don't personally try to fill it before racing or sailing because it weighs alot!!!
I seem to remember this issue being discussed and I believe it may be due to the swing keel weight balance. Some have reported that the forward tilt sometimes caused water to collect on the cockpit floor because the slight forward tilt didn't allow water to run aft to the drains.
This response is great and brings up another point. If I single-hand her most of the time, do I tune the mast to vertical when I'm the only one on board and will it matter that the boat is slightly nose-down.

I would set the mast rake with the keel down. That way she'll be sitting on her under sail lines.
I should have mentioned, I also have an abnormal waterline mark. It goes up over the bootstripe at the bow. I had planned on raising the bottom paint this time to compensate for the line and prevent any blisters. I never liked my bootstripe color anyway.
