Hi All, I ordered a bunch of stuff from CD to refirb my mast but there mast step and the plate that goes under it that has the holes on the side for shives are back ordered for two to three months. Is there another source? Cheers.
They had me backordered on something and it took two weeks. Give them a call and see what the holdup is. They might just be giving you standard timeframe.
Hi Dan, yes I have the old one still on the boat. It has been bent over and straighten many times (so it appears) and does not have the fore and aft bales. The one from CD is also longer and bolts throught the deck vs. wood screwing in to the support peice. Cheers.

Don't through-bolt your mast tabernackle! The reason that the factory uses relatively short lag screws instead of through-bolting is that if you have an accident during a mast-raising, or get dismasted somehow, and the mast falls sideways, the lag screws will simply pull out of the wood, doing only minor damage to the fiberglass. If the tabernackle is through-bolted, a falling mast will likely rip out a huge chunk of the cabin roof unless the bolts break or tear through the tabernackle itself.

We pulled the tabernacle out of the deck last year through shear stupidity. Put the upper on the aft stay, didn't realize it until the mast was hanging in the air attached to the tabernacle and but not to the deck. I would tend to agree with that statement if your tabernacle isn't already through bolted.
Hey Dennis, Check out Dwyer mast for the base plate(www.dwyermast.com in the Hardware section)You may have to drill it to fit but I ordered one from CD about a month ago and had to drill it as well. I also have a good factory mast step off my parts boat if you still need one?
Thanks Gene, I could actually still use my factory step and most likely will for a while, I wanted to use the shive plate and figured I replace the step as well. Cheers.
Dennis, I have a new mast step halyard plate P/N E1884 from Catalina Direct that I would let you have for 25.00 plus shipping if you are interested? You can email me at boathefner@cox.net
