This is the kind of question that Layline.com is so good at. When you call them direct you will end up with enough information so that you will tell them what you want. Give them a shot.

Rick - what are you up to? I'm beginning to get a bit scared about sailing against Swimmer!

Thanks Frank, I hadn't thought of that - I'll give them a shout.

Justin, I'm looking to lighten a few things up on the mast. Barry Steinberg, (N.E. PHRF Chairman), told me a few things I could do that wouldn't give me a hit on my rating, unlike carbon rigging which would penalize me by 3 seconds.

Sailing against? I'm depending on you and Jessica for crew...or did you get what you were looking for?

Tsunami replaced a portion of it with Vectran - They also replaced their Check stays with it... (equivalent of a running back stay but more of a shroud) Based on the loads, your going to want to talk to a rigger the guys at layline can tell you a lot, but I'd really like a guy who is truly hands on all the time. He'll be able to get you all the appropriate things you need to get the job done.

one footnote - keep in mind that Vectran and other various weaves are strong, but have a short life. oils on your hands, sunlight h20 and salt will break them down rather quickly - 2-3 seasons?
