Arizona heat, sun, and wind had been brutal on my sail cover and hatch cover, and holes and tears are forming. I got a canvas package with the boat, which was on the original bill of sale as being ordered from Catalina. 3rd party sail covers don't seem to be quite as nice as the one I have -- I especially like the strap arrangement at the end of the boom. Has anyone replaced their sail cover recently and care to recommend a vendor? I also should replace the bimini cover -- also part of the canvas package.
I have'nt replaced any per se' but I have had some items madecustomized (Sheet bags, Binnacle Cover) and am fixing to have fender bagsack cushons for my back seats made. THe company that always gets my first call is Needle Trades http://www.needle-trades.com . They do first class work and will customize anything.
Greg - I need a jib sock to cover the new 135 I just bought, and have sent an inquiry to Needle Trades. They don't list jib socks on their web site, but their prices look pretty reasonable, and it can't hurt to ask. CD wants $250 for a jib sock, which seems awful high for such a simple item, and they have only the dark blue ones. I would prefer white for maximum reflectivity (it gets really hot here in mid-summer).
