If anyone cares, I had a problem with grease stains on my boats finish. A friend in my office suggested I try a product made by Castrol, called "Superclean". The packaging said it was safe for boats, and my friend suggested I used a #000 steel wool pad (sounds scary right)
Well I cant be more pleased with the results those ugly black scuff marks and grease came right out with no effort on my part. I then hit the hull with a coat of wax.
Dont know where to get this but it comes in a blue 1 gallon container, possibly check their website.
"Don't use steel wool -- get bronze wool pads. The pads will inevitably leave metal, and the steel will rust."
-- or the 'synthetic' steel wool stuff available in most hardware/paint stores... it's made from some sort of fiberous composite comes in a sheet with little 'tear-off' perforations so you can use a whatever size piece you need. Very handy stuff.
