That's a good one! I've used metal screw on shackle with one of those vinyl shields to protect the sail connected to a slug as an emergency temporary repair. I usually end up just using one grommet, though. It works but seems to leave a crinkle in the main.
Sure would be nice to have a removeable strap! I never mastered sewing.
