My wife and I went sailing for the first time this year yesterday afternoon/evening, and it was great. We had been trying to get out for the past couple weeks but our schedules have been so busy we just haven't been able to until yesterday.
This was the first sail with the new wing keel. Winds were pretty steady, probably around 10 or 12 mph. I tried to determine how the new WK pointed, and being pretty green at knowing how to properly trim sail and use the travelor, I'm not really sure if its any better or worse than my SK. I did adjust my travelor up to the windward side and it seemed to point better than the SK did, but I had never adjusted my travelor before, so I don't know if I was doing it right.
We got some pretty good speed going. My Loran registered 5.5 mph. Anyone know how to convert that to knots? I wish my Loran could read in knots, but I got what I got. All in all, a great evening. Can't wait to go out again!
