Steve Dube and his wife have posted a request for some experienced help sailing their quite new 250 WB in the 2004 Regatta and Rendezvous at Portland, OR. They are not very concerned with winning, but would love to learn more about their boat from someone with experience, but not someone who will yell or get bent out of shape if they don't finish races at the top of the pack. if you would like to help them, or join the regatta as crew for someone else, or if you are a boat owner/skipper who might be interested in this fun event , check out our website with its "Crewing opportunities" link. Click on the link provided in the "sticky" at the top of this forum.
We have a few C250s coming, but right now you are the smallest number of interested folk. We will work to provide some experience for other owners who don't feel up to racing at all, but want to come and play. We are going to have a great time. Don't miss it!
I have contacted both thye Dube's and the Larson's re skipper for them in Nationals, and both are interested in that arrangement. So, I need to make a decision, probably later today, when I wake up a start functioning a bit more.
But pushing the need is a great way for the fleet to gain experience and to help the new guys on the block learn their boats.
I think it's super that you found a ride; I hear you are hooked up with the Dubes. If you think of it, or want to, a word from you somewhere on the forum about our little "match-up" website would be appreciated. I feel like I am blowing the horn too loudly for some folks....alone in the wilderness, I guess. Let me know if you need any specific information that is not on one of our websites. More info is coming. I send it in, but I am not in charge of posting it!
As Gary indicated, I am sailing with Steve and Charlotte Dube in Nationals this July.
I recently signed up for the "crew available" portion of the Fleet 94 dating service, and then sent e-mails to the two "crew wanted" listings. Within a day both of the "crew wanted" listings had replied and were interested in dating. I decided on the Dube's offer and let them know, and let the other skipper know of my decision.
The Fleet 94 dating service is excellant and works quite quickly. If you are interested in attending check it out, complete either "crew available" or "crew wanted" and see what happens. This is an excellant tool for those of us too far or trailerless to attend and participate in Nationals.

I have pondered the thought of dragging Lady Kay out there....however, this sounds like an interesting proposition. Maybe I will go out there and put some faces with the names. I will know my schedule by the end of June........
