Requesting tech tip submissions for the Nov 1, Mainsheet. Last issue, two were listed for the C250 so this go around, I'd like to do two or three for the C25.
I didn't catch what the deadline was and feel that it is a just around the corner so need the submissions as soon as possible.
I heard from John and the deadline is the first part September so we have just a few days. I am in hopes that the tech tips for this issue will be for the C25.
I had thought that the motor mount issue would make a good presentation but I'm not sure that any conclusions were reached.
How about it C25 folks, someone want to write something up?
Arlyn... I'd write up my motor mount installation, but I probably wouldn't do the same thing if I did it now. It was the best solution two years ago...

I think an outline of the way you went compared to current trend or what you'd now do differently would work.... go for it. The mount issue seems to be an ongoing process and clearly defining where its at now would be IMHO beneficial.
Hi folks, Would you like me to write up an article about motor mounts. I could call it "How I did it" (What hump?) Basically this is how I did it.
New model Garelick salt water bracket. I modified the bracket so I could use 6-3/8" bolts to mount it with full backing plates of starboard inside and out. New Honda extra long shaft electric start Marinco waterproof trolling motor plug for the electric start quick disconnect Garhauer lifting davit--to pick up the damn Honda
I think the significat thing here is the totality of the installation as a system
I wrote a piece on adding a symetrical spinaker to a c-25. Its posted on the tech tips section under "the flying wasp" It might need some grammatical editing, but it might work.
I think your additions to what Dave offers will be helpfull. It seems you did exhaustive research on mounts even to the extent of communicating present day needs to Garhauer. The use of the lifting davit for these heavy modern 4 strokes is on target as well as a means to connect/disconnect the heavy starting/charging cable. Those are issues that need to be listed to make the tech tip apply to current needs.
I think Dave intends to go there... but if he doesn't cover them I will add them from your comments and any further details you send... as well as pics please.
Along with Dave and Frank's materiel on motor mounts... I also received another tech tip relating to the C25's. I looked at your tri radial offering and see that its too exhaustive to do at the same time. Lets hold it for another issue.
Arlyn, I won't be able to get article information together for a few more weeks. I have a tillerpilot to install, and I just ordered a furling system. I'm getting a Schaefer CF-700 as part of a kit from Catalina Direct. Maybe I could write an article on installing a furler.
So much to do.
Plus my recent knee surgery is really putting me behind
Arlyn, et al... Frank's outboard bracket installation is probably what I would do now, if I were doing it now. However, since I've never actually seen the new Garelick 71091, I'm not in a very good position to recommend it or describe its placement and installation. I'm pleased with my "idea" of the Starboard plate under the bracket on the outside of the transom... as Frank apparently did. However, even if it's later, I'd say that Frank has the best story to tell--I can only speculate.
Meanwhile, I'm wrestling with my new bimini... I'll report on that when I know the outcome.
