Glad to be a new member of this forum. My partner Gary Fournier and I bought the boat from Rober Poirier. Very well maintained boat and happy new owners. If anyone can give us some clues as what to expect on our first day out this coming saturday June 7, 2003.

Feeling the fresh air hit ones cheek while moving with the wind.... puts a smile on my face thinking about being out on the water!! Congrats on the new boat!! More than likely your baby has experienced the upgrades and repairs ( 3rd generation rudder, centerboard cable, minor leaks, so on)that newer 250 owners have encountered. So in my opinion, the first dose of reality will come when trying to dock. The wb has high freeboard so it will take some getting use to motoring and backing in tight quarters (prepare for prop walk) Once you get the feel for the boat it will become second nature and you'll have a good laugh about that first day around the docks. The only other thing that I've noticed different than other sailboats is at anchor. Seems not to point bow into the wind like you would think, read Arlyn Stewarts thread about an anchor sail if anchoring is gonna be a large part of your sailing experience. Well that is my two cents, and I'm sure you'll love your boat as much as I do mine! By the way this forum is invaluable tool, wonderful knowledgeable sailors seem to always have the right answer/advise for most any problem with the 250. Good luck and happy sailing !!!
Jean; Congratulations on your new boat, I hope your first sail was a great success. We've been sailing for over 30 years and couldn't be more pleased with our decision to buy our c250wb. I feel like Frank B. designed the boat just for us. Many happy sails; Bill c250wb #134 Serendipity
