I recently finished installing a remote to my new C250WK.
If I had it to do over, I'd probably just get the Honda outboard with the tiller.
I didn't like the Honda remote, and ended up using a Teleflex Morse unit, cannibalizing the switches and warning lights off of the Honda remote. I couldn't come up with the clean pedestal installation I had originally wanted, so I installed it on the side of the fuel locker. You have to lean over a bit to reach it when you're standing up, but it's actually quite nice when your sitting on the fuel locker. Problem is, it's not that much closer than a tiller would be.
