The canvas roller furling cover on my jib leech needs some repair. Any sail lofts you can recommend? My boat is in Utah (in covered storage right now) and there are no local sail lofts.
I’d think your best bet is to find a California sail loft. However NorthSails and Niels Pryde are both in Connecticut. I’ve had my sails cleaned and repaired by both and their prices are competitive with many others. The issue for you is to ship out your sails. You can fold up the sail and put it into a bag, then find a large shipping carton to safely ship. You could use USPS, UPS or Fedex and I’d opt for enough insurance to cover you for replacement sails. It’s good to provide tracking info to the loft and to require insurance and tracking for the return shipment. You could check around for pricing estimates but for me either one did an excellent job and charged a fair price.
Make sure you're sitting down when you get the quote. You might decide the money is better spent on a new sail with a new cover. Just sayin'...
