After planning on making a cockpit grate for a wile , I saw this pool mat online. Its called barepath. there is another called heronrib. Made for pools and is barefoot friendly. No data yet on how hot it gets. At least I can stand above the dirt. Got it from wayfair.com. If anyone wants a sample, email me. I have two scraps 6 feet by ~4 inches.
Nice carpeting. I’ve given it some thought but haven’t come across a suitable material. I’ll check pool supply shops. I noticed your quarterberth port light. How does that workout? I’ve seen them on 28-34 foot boats with built-in insect screens.

Only the kids have opened it to grab people's feet. Its so close to the compainionway, that i doubt it offers much.
update on the mat, in the sunlight in 95 degree all day it got a little hotter that the bare fiberglass. I could stand it barefoot, but just barely. the part that was in the shade had cooled off considerably. It was quite comfortable on the parts that were in shadow.
