The mainsheet traveler from the factory is not acceptable. The lines pull from the middle perpendicular to the travel direction and constantly creates a bind when under load. Simply move the cam cleat and bracket to the ends, add a cheek block and the traveler performs as expected. The reduction is only 2:1 but seems to be sufficient for my needs. The first attempt used an open sheave with a custom retainer. The best solution used a cheek block by Karver. I am extremely happy with the performance and would recommend the change to others. The system uses the existing track and doesn't impact the cushions. A hole needs to be drilled in the flat bar for the line connection. This is a simple upgrade that trims the mainsail for better sailing performance.
