Well I was 4 inches short when trying to put on the furler after raising the mast. Turns out the weight of the sail was curling the forestay and making it short. taking down the sail fixed the distance problem but created a much bigger one. Since it was stuck I had taken the two set screws out of the bearing race and the marina had put my boat in the water. I asked for some help. When they took the sail down the extrusion slide up and the two halfs of the bearing race fell to the ocean floor in the bay. I found one in 1 min and after 3 hours couldnt find the other. Im dead in the water. Its a model 1986 dont think there are any parts left Im told by cdi. I attached the manual. Does any know of maybe a sailboat grave yard or has anyone on here taken one off I could buy.

you can see the split race in the second photo. Im going back in to search tomorrow. wish me luck
Hmmmm, a few months back somebody mentioned a boat salvage shop that’s online where they might just have parts like that. I seemed to recall another thread during March or April where someone needed replacement parts and another piped up, “hey don’t you know about xyz dot com?” Can’t recall the name. Also, you might try posting your story on sailingtexas or cruiser forum dot com. You’d probably reach a different cross section of sailors in those sites.

Yes, Mass marine parts is one that I mentioned earlier, and their are also places like Minneys (www.minneysyachtsurplus.com) Pineapples (,www.pineapplesails.com) both, I believe , on the West Coast and Atlantic Sail Traders in Florida (www.usedsails.com) sell used parts and/or sails/rigging. Any CDI dealer (www.sailcdi.com/dealers) may have their own inventory of spares that could work. We have all, at one time or another, needed to scrounge around to find parts -- good luck!

It would be very helpful to have a directory of used parts resources or regional dealers with significant inventory for when that certain part is lost and scrounging around is the only reasonable method to replace -- or is this a question/task for our creative Web Master Paul Alcock?
