Been working on this new to me boat that I've renamed "Kazoku". I live in the desert and we've had rain every day the last few weeks which has really slowed things down. I've had tons to do (new rigging, upgrading spreader brackets, upgrading hardware, fixing leaks, Installing shore power, etc) but she'll now be a dry, healthy boat. I hope I can launch her this weekend. Still have plenty to do.
Anyway, fabbed this mast raising system. The jib halyard connects to it. Then a winch or the mainsheet or whatever you want connects to the other side.
Finished result:
My solution to fixing the angle and allow the aframe to pivot. The bolt fastened through the eyebolt is only holding it there. No movement. All of the movement is above it. This just sort of slips over the eyebolt with tender loving care.
