I recently purchased a 20 yr old Catalina 250 with trailer. It is the water ballast, swing keel, wheel model. I wanted to test the battery and opened the inspection port on the aft of the salon under the out board fuel tank locker. No battery, no terminals just a charging cord fro the 8 hp outboard connected to wires tracing off to the port side. There is a power distribution panel on the port side. I have found no schematic suggesting a alternate battery location. Any suggestions? Thanks Dave Stormont
Some people have moved the battery to the storage area under the forward A-berth to provide better weight distribution. Have a look there.
Also, some boats list a little to starboard due to outboard motor weight, so maybe they moved it to under the port settee to compensate for that.
Keep looking. There aren't that many places to hide a battery on a 25 foot boat!

Found um, port and starboard side batteries under the salon seats. Covered up in junk. The two batteries account for the distribution panel. I think the panel is a retro fit. Any thoughts, Thanks, Dave
