Hey all. Just purchased Hull #475 and I need to re-bed the bow pulpit, but cannot figure out how to get access to the backing plates/washers without some hand gymnastics from the v-berth around the anchor locker. Surely there must be another way?

Mine (1997 WK) has a Beckson 4" plate in the anchor locker that allows (limited) access to the bow. I used it to mount an anchor roller several years ago. I don't know if it came that way, or was installed by one of the two PO's. My hand just barely fit inside, and I had to get Rita (who's much-much smaller than me) to help when I needed to get the nuts & backing washers on the bolts, and then to crank them down tight.

I wonder if their is a way from below. It seems that there is significant gap between the headliner and bow anchor. I would feel safer cutting the head liner than putting two additional holes in the anchor locker. I will have to take a closer look this weekend.

This is the view from above. You can see where the bow pulpit is missing bolts.

David, what type of anchor roller did you install and how do you use it? Do you leave the anchor on it all the time? I am contemplating adding one to serve as a tack point for a spinnaker pendant, as well as to center the anchor a little more than where the current chock is placed. Thanks.

I believe the anchor roller is an AR-3, I have one, not yet installed. I don't remember the manufacturer. I've considered changing the 4" Beckson plate in the anchor locker to a 6" just to provide more working room to install the AR-3.
