Here's an update to the "Map Your Boat" page on Home page menu. This replaces the previous procedure and password.
On the left menu, the "Map Your Boat" link will start a new browser window. This link will take you to the website: zeemaps.com
To add your boat to the map: Select "Additions" from the menu Select "Add Marker - Simple" or "Add Marker - Detailed" Enter the Key (Password): catalina Enter your information. Click Submit
Important: After clicking Submit, a popup message will appear. The message will display a link to edit your Marker. Copy this link and save it for later (copy to Notepad or text file) The link from the message is the only way you can change your information later.
To view other Markers, zoom in and click on an existing marker to see the details. Also, on the right-side, use the "<<" button to expand the search feature.

I'm thinking these instructions (especially the password) should be in the Members area so one of our mischievous visitors doesn't decide to play with the map.

Dave, you have a good point. The original version was setup by a forum user, who was a former member. Moving it to the Members Area would lock out the guy who created it. Going forward, we could restrict new Markers to paid members and allow everyone else as "View-only". This post could be changed to, here's how to view the map and login to the Members Area for the full instructions.
This version of the map has better security and using the password from the instructions, allows you to add a Marker and not much else. The previous version would allow the user to unlock and delete other Markers.
Please test this map version and let me know if you find problem (though email) Thanks, Russ

Russ Thanks for sorting this out. A few weeks ago I tried it out and as we all found out without Prospector's password and the procedure you spelled out above, we were all (as they say in Canada) totally hosed. Bruce

Martin, Create a new Marker, then send me an email and I will delete the old marker.
