A guy asks a relatively simple question about high & low tides in the UK in a physics forum, the responses are worth reading if you've ever wondered about how tides work.

Well according to M Theory there are an infinite number of high tides, the question is where!

This subject reminds me of the sheltered, little life I live on an inland lake.

Have seen a couple of travel shows where tides played a key role in planning, execution.
