The pin comes out of my finger thursday! I can finally get back to prepping the boat. I hate that I will miss 2 months this season. Always use a splitter or featherboard on your table saw. Push the wood all the way past the blade before stopping!
I've used BenchDog feather boards to great success. I have a pair of them as well as a couple of home made ones, and lots of push stick options.
I'm not a big fan of having the splitter attached, but I'm a bigger fan of having all my fingers attached, so I make myself keep it there (or use my bandsaw as much as possible, no kick back).
I keep seeing the Grippers in woodworking stores and I like the idea of magnetic attachments, but I've never wanted to cough up what they want for them. If I used my table saw constantly (almost never nowadays), I'd probably be more interested.
