wow Frank - multiple fractures, I am very sorry! Is the doc giving you an estimate on when you'll be mended yet? I've had plenty of close calls working up on the boat (almost falling off a few times), and with lots of moving equipment like other cars near the boat, trailer boats being hauled through the yard, travel-lifts moving large boats swinging across the yard and "helpful" yard-mates - any one of which could have put me in the hospital. So now, having avoided all that, Passage will be splashed on Friday morning at 0800. I plan to move her on Saturday at high tide on the river - around 11:15AM. Another customer whose boat is next door is also planning to move on Sat. We'll be teaming on our transit and bridge opening.
Thank you all for your thoughts. My insurance company keeps trying to get its head around me running over myself. So now I will probably launch in June
<< Thank you all for your thoughts. >> OUCH... Did your son get any pictures before he drove back over your leg? ( something to beat your open wound headshot ) Maybe now you can get that parrot and eye patch you've always wanted.
I'm sorry.. I'm the last guy you want to talk to, my having worked in a major trauma center all my life I'm always petrified something like that is gonna happen. ( but very unemotional when I don't really know the person )
I'm gonna think of you for the rest of my life should someone ask advice on launching a boat,
"And let some air out of your tires, they are softer that way..."
The best thing I can tell you is people heal. Sometimes it's hard to believe when you are in the middle of it.
but a picture of that Michelin would have communicated a lot! The tread marks are already hard to see on my thigh. Maybe I will end up with a "character" limp. LOL
