This was sitting in the yard of a cottage on Conch Key. Story has it that the owner went to South America and bought lumber. Had the lumber shipped to this location and built a 40+/-' sailboat. Took the boat on its maiden voyage, hit something and sank it. He still owns the property but lives in Australia. A global guy!

It's an industrial saw manufactured by the J. A. Fay & Egan Co. in
Cincinnati, Ohio.

I think, more specifically, it's a saw mill, based on the rails you can see in some shots, and can create lumber from tree trunks or larger lumber. I know someone who has a slightly prettier version.

That's apparently the saw... From the first two pix, it looks to me like it was adapted to a set of rails to make a mill. I might be imagining more than is there...

Yes, I wondered if there was a secondary saw for cutting the logs down to fit in the throat of the "scrow" saw.

I also noticed the repair weld on one of the positioning jigs (term?)
