To All C25-SK Owners -

I'm planning on putting a Tech article on Swing Keel Maintenance/Repairs for the Summer issue of Mainsheet (comes out in May). Please share any stories, photos, tips, or questions regarding this subject. I am also looking for someone to author the article. Ideally, if anyone is planning any SK maintence this winter, their input would be quite helpful. CD issued a Public Service Announcement in Dec. regarding a C25-SK that sank when the cable failed.

Thanks,

Brian Gleissner

The method that Frank Hopper shows is exactly the same as what I uesd when replacing the hangars and pivot pins . My frame work was identical to his but mine was on the ground not on a trailer. I did use a jack to lower the keel when I backed off the rod nuts , it just allows the lowering to be smoother.. I had never seen Franks framework. but the rod system has been on this site for years..

I made a framework like Frank but the boat was not on the trailer so I just lowered the framework to the ground. (with the help of a local skid steer)
