Looking for ideas to support the mast on the boat for storage this winter. Would like to use it as a support for tarps and still be able to enter the boat to do work on the inside this winter

I use some 2x4 stands for height, a few Styrofoam blocks near the mast step and a large tarp over the mast as a ridge beam. The trick is to support the tap from ponding. A line strung between the stantions and the horizontal mast seems to work. Some supports made from 1" PVC would help as well.
