In the tech section there is a drawing of the cradle dimensions someone got from Catalina, but the right side is cut off with what looks like other numbers/measurements that are missing. Does anyone have a copy with the right side of the drawing included? I picked up a tandem axle trailer (EZ Loader) that had a 22' Searay cuddy on it (4000 lbs) and will be starting the process of converting it soon so I can bring my boat home this fall, but reference points are always nice for having a place to begin. Thanks.
Thanks for the feedback. I had stumbled across that drawing somewhere online too, which is great for making a cradle, but not much help with designing a trailer. On here and elsewhere on the net I have found that my boat (fin keel) should have all its weight supported under the keel and the uprights are merely to keep it from tipping over. The bottom of my keel measures exactly 48" long and I figure that should be divided right over the axles. Based on the tech drawing in the files here, I guess that means about 7'6" sticking out past the keel (to the transom) which should mean 12'6" from center of the keel/axles to the winch stand using the 22'2" LWL dimensions given in the owner's manual? From there I need to figure out how much of a tongue extension I need to keep the upper bow (above the waterline which is another 3' forward?) away from the back of the towing vehicle. If anyone has a trailer for a fin keel C-25, I would love to have a measurement from the center between the axles to the tongue (for towing, not launching/retrieving extensions.) Thank you!!!
Look up Trail-Rite trailers online and call them. They were one of the original trailer suppliers for the C-25 and might be willing to send you some spec numbers.
Was anyone ever able to get the trailer dimensions? I'm looking for trailer dimensions for my C25 fin keel. I'd appreciate if anyone can share the specs / dimensions.
I picked up a used EZ loader tandem trailer with rollers that carried a cuddy cabin I/O that I am converting to use for my C25. I have taken so many measurements of my boat (fin keel) that I could probably tell you as much (or more) than Catalina. The only thing I do not have yet is the center of the boat (weight, not length) as I assume the keel should be evenly distributed over the axles. That would put the center of the boat (12'6") just forward of the front axle. From the center between the axles, the trailer is 18' to the tongue, so it is long enough. I just have to strip off the rollers and brackets, fabricate a berth for the keel, and add adjustable poles with pads to keep her upright.
Using the bottom edge of the waterline as a reference point, it is 8'3 1/2" from the bow to the keel. Along the bottom of the hull, the keel is 5'0" long, and from the "hollow" of the curve on the rear of the keel it is 8'0" to the transom. (So 21' 3 1/2" long on the bottom edge of my waterline stripe.) From the hull, the keel extends down 32". The bottom of the keel is 48" long, so the aft tip on the bottom extends towards the transom 11 1/2" further back than the upper part of the back of the keel. From the bottom of the waterline stripe, the bow extends forward 30 1/2". From the bottom of my stripe to the bottom of my keel is 49". Add another 13 1/2" for the rudder, and the overall length at the waterline is 22'5" on my boat. With the mast laying on top of the cabin/rear stanchions/bow pulpit and the bottom of the keel even with the top of the trailer rails, she will sit 12' 4" high (+/- depending on what I use to pad the mast and how much the torsion axles sag when the boat is on the trailer.)
I have lots of good drawings of all this that, and once I have it all done I'll ask our tech person to post in the tech section for everyone's benefit. Right now, I'm going by trial and error.

I would like to add 3rd set of posts in the middle. Can anyone give me height of the middle post if you have it on your trailer.
