Low retail on NADA says the boat should be around $8500, but boats seem to move slow on my lake, and I think I've seen other C25s priced around $5000, but maybe they were in poor states of repair.
You don't mention how old the sails are or outboard. If the outboard and sails are recent, I think the price is low. A buyer will expect you to take less than your asking price.
So much depends on the local market that it is virtually impossible for those outside of it to say what is a fair price or not. In some areas, boats are a dime a dozen. In others, the same boat commands a high price.
Remember, your boat is only worth what someone else will pay for it.
You speak to what is included and that the condition is good, but not condition of specific items. I'd mention the condition and age of sails, running rigging, cushions, and the motor. These are all the high ticket items that can make the biggest difference in price.
In Seattle swing keels aren't that common (or desireable, since we have deep waters). Fin keel Catalina 25s in rough condition seem to sell for $2-4k. Ones in clean condition with a good inventory of new sails, a recent motor, good cushions, and new running rigging might go for up to $10k.
My guess is that your price would be pretty reasonable in this area.
The photo of you sailing with the drifter makes it look like the drifter doesn't fit properly (or the tack isn't secured). What's going on there?
Values are indeed regional, but shoppers will look at national prices (on Yachtworld, etc.) to understand what's reasonable. The outboard and sail vintages could alter the price by $1000 each... but I suspect I'd put a tag of $7500 on that yacht.
Put her on our Swap Meet--mine sold in somewhere around 24 hours there.
Thanks for replies everyone. I think you're all right on the regional aspect for pricing. I priced mine considering the asking prices of other Catalina 25s that have been listed on our lake, but I think they were mostly older and I am not sure about their condition, and equipment.
In the photo, the rainbow drifter looks like it doesn't fit because the PO put a 1.5' pigtail on the tack (is that the right word for a foresail?). I think the point was to help it get above the pulpit. I've since removed it to get better sail shape.
The outboard is about 12 years old.
The main is original, but doesn't seem blown out. The boat has spent most of its life unused, just laying at dock. The genoa and small jib are not new, but have rarely been used and are still stiff. The rainbow drifter was used almost exclusively with our typical light airs on our lake, but it is in good shape too.
The interior cushions are original, but in good shape. The pattern is not the most fashionable being late 80s vintage, but it's not bad.
The cockpit cushions, bimini, and sail covers are showing their age, but could go through several more seasons before replacing.
