I need to over haul my Honda 9.9 outboard, but not sure what model I have. How can I be sure of my model to purchase a repair manual?

You should have a data plate on the engine with all that info. Just curious why you think your Honda needs an overhaul?

You have stamped on the engine block the engine serial #. This # will be the one you will probably need. You can find out what year etc. it is and order parts.


You also have a frame number that is on a plate or stamped on the side of the swivel. My plate is missing, The small rivets corroded and it is lost but this number isn't as important as the engine number.
