Mine ended up at the bottom user day. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement? I tried Catalina direct to no avail. They suggested that I fabricate them. Problem is that I don't know the dimensions. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Bob.

If you need a bushing, try a hardware or big box store (Home Depot, Lowes, etc.)

I bought mine from Ace Hardware but I had to get them machined down to fit snugly. I don't remember the size.

Thanks for the quick response --- hoping to find the dimensions to avoid a couple of trips to the lake and back!

Any other suggestions are most welcome!

Are you sure you contacted Catalina Direct and not Catalina Yachts? Catalina Direct lists the gudgeon bushing for their upgraded gudgeon's online. My original gudgeon's had no bushings.

yup, Catalina Direct --- these are older style pintle / gudeons -- their solution was to upgrade everything on both the rudder and the gudeons ...

I may have a problem with my description of the part --- these are nylon donuts that could also doble as spacers that rest on top of the gudeons... approximately .75 inch by 1.25 inch in diameter... similar to a washer....

Then you are looking for common nylon washers. They can be found in any hardware or marine store. I think the earlier pintles were 3/8 but later Catalina switched to 1/2". Get the 1/2" (hole size) They will fit both pintles.

Thanks I think I'll have to stack them to get to my guess of 3/4 " thickness. I'll give it a try.

My gudgeons and pintles are a little worn, so they rattle around a bit. Is it possible to get a plastic sleeve to slip in between to fill the gap?, or am I best off replacing the whole kit?

Bruce, I had the same problem so I bought 2 brass bushings from Ace Hardware. They needed machining to fit but they work very well with very smooth rudder movement.

If you have a 3/4" gap to fill it might be better to reset one of the pintles to the proper spacing. It sounds like they may have been adjusted to resolve a prior issue.
