Looking to mount (2) 4" cleats on my mast. Originally I wanted to use pop rivets, but couldn't find any with 1.25" grip which I would need. Should I use 1/8" self tapping screws, or the the alum wall heavy enough for a st'd tap?
I used a tap for our mast cleat as well as for installing our radar reflector and the jib car track (for the whisker pole) on the front of the mast. The mast extrusion is thick and sturdy enough for a tap.
I will go with a st'd tap--Thanks
quote:
I used a tap for our mast cleat as well as for installing our radar reflector and the jib car track (for the whisker pole) on the front of the mast.
