There's a 4000# HydroHoist listed in the Ditty Bag Newsletter for $2K but it would be very marginal for our boats. If you shop around you can find the 6600# hoists used for less than 1/2 the price of a new one.

I've got a trailer and it's closer to me so thank you very much for the lead!!!

The real question with these is does it work and does it stay afloat. The other issue is with the center pontoon missing it's no longer a 6000# lift.

Haha, go for it. I don't have the boat bucks right now after all the fees I just had to pay.

Update:

The torture continues. The shop still hasn't pulled the owner's boat out of the slip, so I'm still waiting around, looking at my boat from afar, while everyone else gets to enjoy theirs.

There's a HCYC Jamaken-me-krazy regatta that weekend. I don't know yet if I'll be at the lake that weekend. Gotta check with the General first. ;)

Jamaican-Me-Crazy was last month. On the 16th is our Mid-Summer Regatta of 3 races with the usual party afterwards.
If you'd like to turn up at HCYC I'm sure we can find a crew spot for you!

Hmmm, someone must have written it down wrong on the LCYC calendar, or the date changed after they made it.

BTW Derek, did you know they are having a "Cheeseburgers in Paradise" party with margaritas after this saturday's race?

There is now a 7500lb hoist in the newsletter for $3500. Hopefully it won't sell for a while so that I can pick it up in a few months.

I might take you up on that or at least watch you guys. HCYC is at Canyon Lake Marina just down the dock from TSU, correct?

Are you talking about June 16th or July 16th? I'll be up there in July.

Darn GaryB. I'm still in June! We don't have any regattas in July.

Haha, I was also thinking June! July 15-19th is Sunday-Thursday. I'll probably be in SA working. The 14th is the summer series race though.

I'm in!!! I went early saturday morning to the club, and to my surprise, I saw the slip owner's boat gone. So I immediately moved mine in. It's about 2 feet wider and much much nicer. Best of all, I have shore power and a pressure washer nearby.

Here's another reason to leave the other marina full of public idiots:

The reverse lock is broken. I now have to hold the motor in the water when going in reverse.

Did you ever get your motor fixed?

By the way, there's a Chrysler 22' for sale at your club. Do you have any idea how it looks? Condition? Comes with a trailer.
