I found this guy selling a ton of stainless parts on ebay for dirt cheap. I got quite a few items at the price of shipping plus $.01
I really don't know the name of the brand he's selling as they didn't have anything engraved, but he has the specs on the listings and they seem legit. So, $9 shipped sounded a lot better than $30 for a snap shackle or pair of SS bimini mounts.

seems like metallurgy quality would suffer to allow such low costs. Thanks for the link, I may try for low to no load applications.....

I bought bimini mounts, snap shackles, and a whisker pole track car.

I can sacrifice a shackle for you by picking up the front of my car with my engine hoist if you'd like. ;)

What's your opinion of the quality? I'm guessing you aren't in a position to do any kind of stress-tests or anything on the parts, but do they seem to be reasonably well made?

They look great!

The shackle I have has a breaking strength of 2100lbs, so I really should be able to perform my test. I don't see a real need but it would be fun to see. Lol

I got mine for $12 shipped. They cost $109 for the Schaefer's at West Marine!

I've been waiting to mount my whisker pole on a mast track because of this expensive item. Now I can get to work.
