At the risk of repeating myself, I'm close to finishing Unbroken, A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption, by Laura Hillenbrand, bestselling author of Seabiscuit. This is an incredible book. What our POW's went through at the hands of the Japanese in WWII is nothing short of amazing. It's a wonder that any of them survived. After my wife finished reading it, she said she now understands why her father held such a dislike for the Japanese, and why he would never buy one of their automobiles or many other products made there.

It really is, especially what happened to him after returning to the states. I won't say more, don't want to spoil it for those who have not read it yet! It really is a MUST READ book.
