Oh yah.. Spring lines...Fenders... She was fine when they left her.. My friend had a World Cat.. They are monsters.

There's an excellent example of what <i><b>not</b></i> to do in a hurricane. Once you've done your best to prepare your "stuff", let whatever's gonna happen, happen. Somebody could have been badly hurt or killed there trying to save their stuff, as demonstrated by what happened to that pretty large boat.

Where, exactly, were they going to go had they actually been able to manage that bow line?

I donno, if I owned a marina I would keep a very close eye on my docks and my tenants boats - with a work boat staged for just that kind of event. Friends owned a 42' power boat that broke away during a big storm. After it was recovered several miles downstream - their insurance totalled it. They never replaced the boat - left too bad a taste in their mouth.
